Yoodli alternative
A Yoodli alternative for one-way interview practice
Yoodli is communication practice: interviews, speeches, pitches, and AI roleplays. OneShot Interview is the countdown on a one-way video interview.
No sign-up · No credit card · Camera optional
Yoodli's pricing page says individuals can start free, and that the free Starter plan includes interview prep along with public speaking and pitch practice. That is a wide brief. A one-way interview is narrower. You get a question, a short time to think, and a recording that stops.
If you want ongoing reps for talks and pitches, Yoodli is built for that, and the free sessions are a real way to see it. If you want to rehearse the silent timer before a HireVue, Spark Hire, or Willo invite, that is what OneShot Interview is for.
| Yoodli | OneShot Interview | |
|---|---|---|
| Free access | Individuals can start free. Starter includes 5 lifetime roleplays. A roleplay is any practice session over 30 seconds, including an interview or a pitch. | One question at the free try, with no sign-up. One full session is also free on that browser. The camera is optional, and you can type the answer on a phone. |
| Paid plans | Pro is $8 per month billed annually, with up to 10 roleplays a week, live AI roleplays, and feedback on uploaded recordings. Advanced is $20 per month billed annually, with unlimited roleplays. The page also offers monthly billing. Those monthly dollar amounts were not in the page text, so they are not listed here. | $7 for one session, $25 for five, $49 for fifteen, or $59 for 30 days of unlimited sessions. These are one-time payments. The 30-day pass does not auto-renew. |
| What you practice | Interview prep, public speaking, and pitch practice. Pro includes live AI roleplays. | Timed one-way answers with a prep timer and an answer limit. STAR score, relevance, filler words, and a rewrite. |
| Cancellation | Canceling stops auto-renewal. Access continues until the end of the billing period. Their pricing page says they do not offer refunds on cancellation. | No auto-renewal. Refund rules for an unused purchase are on our refund policy. |

What their pricing page actually says
The only individual dollar amounts written on the page we fetched were the annual ones: Pro at $8 per month billed annually, and Advanced at $20 per month billed annually. A control on the page switches to monthly billing and mentions saving 40% on annual billing. Because the monthly prices were not in the page text, this comparison does not guess them.
Business and Enterprise plans exist for teams, priced per seat. Those are a different buyer. This page is about a person preparing for an interview.
Where each one fits
Choose Yoodli if you want a coach for how you speak across meetings, talks, and interviews, and you are comfortable with a subscription after the five free roleplays. Their page also says Advanced can exclude your roleplay data from AI training, which some people will care about more than the interview format.
Choose OneShot Interview if the interview is one-way. You set the prep time and the answer time, you answer once, and you see whether the story had a result. You can do that by typing, which matters on a phone when the browser will not caption you. The free question does not require an account.
Questions worth a timed take
Use these as timed one-way prompts. They are not Yoodli's scenarios and not an employer's questions.
1. Walk us through a decision you made with incomplete information.
How to approach it: What you knew, what you assumed, how you checked it, and what happened.
2. Tell us about a time you had to be clear with someone who did not want the news.
How to approach it: The point you needed to say, how you said it, and what they did next.
3. Describe a time you improved something that was already working.
How to approach it: The old result, the change you made, and the new result. Skip the claim that you are a perfectionist.
4. Why this team, given the other places you could work?
How to approach it: One concrete reason tied to the work, and one tied to how you have seen yourself contribute.
5. Tell us about a time you kept a commitment when it became inconvenient.
How to approach it: What the commitment was, what got in the way, and what you still delivered.
Questions about this comparison
Is Yoodli free?
Their pricing page says individuals can start free. The Starter plan includes 5 lifetime roleplays, and a roleplay is a practice session over 30 seconds. After that, Pro and Advanced are paid subscriptions.
Why isn't the monthly Yoodli price on this page?
The pricing page offers monthly billing, but the dollar amounts in the page text were the annual ones: $8 and $20 per month, billed annually. We left the monthly numbers out rather than guess. Check their pricing page for the figure you would actually be charged.
Does Yoodli replace HireVue practice?
Their public pricing page describes interview prep, speaking, and pitches. It does not describe a prep timer you set to a one-way invitation. If that is the format you have, practice the timer. OneShot Interview is one way to do that. It is not affiliated with Yoodli or with HireVue.
Can I try OneShot without subscribing?
Yes. One question is free with no sign-up, and one full session is free. Paid sessions start at $7 and do not auto-renew.
